Gene Lunty, former American Gas Association chair, celebrates his 100th birthday on May 29. Lunty began and ended his career in gas at Brooklyn Union Gas Company, where he worked for 39 years, serving as CEO for the last 11. Lunty also served as chair of the New York Gas Group and was a member of the New York State Energy Development Authority. Retired since 1986, Lunty resides in Hilton Head, South Carolina, with his wife, Betty.
