At Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, Cheryl Martin has been promoted to senior vice president of regulatory and external affairs, where she is responsible for overseeing regulatory, legislative, communications and community affairs initiatives in several states. She is also responsible for leading equity, diversity & inclusion efforts.
Duke Energy announced the retirement of Doug Esamann as executive vice president of energy solutions and president of the Midwest and Florida regions and the natural gas business effective Aug. 1. Among the senior management changes, Julie Janson was named executive vice president and CEO of Duke Energy Carolinas LLC; Alex Glenn was appointed senior vice president and CEO of Duke Energy Florida LLC and Midwest; Brian Savoy was named executive vice president and chief strategy and commercial officer; Harry Sideris was named executive vice president for customer experience, solutions and services; Louis Renjel was appointed senior vice president for external affairs and communications; Melody Birmingham was named senior vice president and chief administrative officer; and Ron Reising was appointed senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Duke Energy also announced several other executive changes: Bill Currens, former senior vice president for financial planning and analysis, became senior vice president for integrated planning in the Carolinas; Diane Denton, former vice president for state energy policy, became vice president for integrated planning in Florida and the Midwest; Swati Daji, former senior vice president for customer solutions and strategies, became senior vice president for enterprise strategy and planning; Regis Repko, former senior vice president and chief regulated and renewable energy officer, became senior vice president for generation and transmission market transformation; Dwight Jacobs, former senior vice president and chief accounting officer, tax and controller, became senior vice president for supply chain and chief procurement officer; Michael Luhrs, former vice president for market solutions and innovation, became vice president for integrated grid strategy; Paul Draovitch, former senior vice president for environmental health and safety, CCP and major projects, became senior vice president and chief regulated and renewable energy officer; Jessica Bednarcik, former vice president for CCP operations, maintenance and governance, became senior vice president for environmental health and safety and CCP; Lara Nichols, former vice president for nuclear and environmental health and safety support, became vice president for state and federal regulatory legal support; Michelle Spak, deputy general counsel, became vice president for nuclear and environmental health and safety support; Cindy Lee, former director for investor relations, became vice president, chief accounting officer and controller; and Nick Giaimo, former director for Carolinas utilities and CAO support, became vice president for financial planning and analysis.
Entergy Corporation named John Weiss vice president of sustainability and environmental policy. Weiss succeeds Chuck Barlow, who retired from the company in 2020. Entergy also announced the appointment of Bill Abler as vice president of investor relations and Deanna Rodriguez as president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans LLC. Abler succeeds David Borde, who will lead Entergy’s utility strategy and regulatory initiatives function. A 27-year veteran of Entergy, Rodriguez succeeds David Ellis, who has been promoted as the first-ever chief customer officer for Entergy Corporation. Ellis reports to Rod West, Entergy’s group president for utility operations.
ORUD Natural Gas has promoted Jeff Patterson to the position of president and general manager. Patterson has 27 years of experience at ORUD, ranging in various roles and management positions within the operations department. Most recently, he held the title of vice president of operations.
PG&E announced the appointments of Joe Forline as senior vice president, gas operations, and Janisse Quiñones as senior vice president, gas engineering, as well as the promotion of Mark Quinlan to vice president, PSPS operations and execution. Forline is responsible for the utility’s gas transmission and distribution operations with a focus on safety, compliance, customer service and operational efficiency. Quiñones joins PG&E from National Grid and is responsible for gas engineering and strategy, overseeing the function’s near-term priorities and long-term planning to support operational execution and sustainability of PG&E’s gas assets. Quinlan oversees the company’s planning, preparation and execution of its Public Safety Power Shutoff, or PSPS, program.
