Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. appointed Arun Banskota to the newly created position of president. He will work in tandem with CEO Ian Robertson and prepare to transition into the role of CEO later this year. Chief Financial Officer David Bronicheski is retiring by fall 2020, and Arthur Kacprzak, Algonquin Power’s treasurer, has been promoted to senior vice president and deputy CFO.
Avista announced Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary Marian Durkin will retire on Aug. 1, and Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer Greg Hesler will assume many of her responsibilities.
At PECO, Mayra Bergman has joined the company as vice president of communications. Bergman will be part of PECO’s senior leadership team and will support its strategic initiatives. She succeeds Doug Oliver, who recently became PECO’s vice president of governmental & external affairs.
PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company announced the appointment of Francisco Benavides to the position of vice president and chief safety officer.
WEC Energy Group Inc. Senior Executive Vice President Frederick Kuester plans to retire in 2020. Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Scott Lauber has assumed some of Kuester’s responsibilities, specifically oversight of the company’s nonutility energy infrastructure investments, the supply chain and real estate groups. Lauber will retain his role as CFO.
At Xcel Energy, Bob Frenzel has been named president and chief operating officer, Brian Van Abel is executive vice president and chief financial officer, and Tim O’Connor is executive vice president and chief generation officer. Wendy Mahling has been named vice president and corporate secretary, replacing Judy Poferl, who has retired. Karen Hyde has been named senior vice president, chief risk, audit and compliance officer, and Frank Prager has been named senior vice president of strategy, planning and external affairs. David Eves, executive vice president and group president, utilities, will retire effective May 1, and Kent Larson, executive vice president and group president, operations, will leave effective May 31. Both Eves and Larson stepped down from their roles effective March 30 but remained to assist with the transition.
