Spooky New Surprises at Disney World Thru Oct. 31
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World operates as a separately ticketed event on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park through Halloween. This year, the “spooktacular” festivities features new enhancements, including neon spiderweb attire for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, a high-energy rave with music from Disney’s “Descendants” films, and a meet-and-greet by Bruno Madrigal from the Disney animated film “Encanto” in the Fairytale Garden. Also on hand are returning favorites, such as “Disney’s Not-So Spooky Spectacular” fireworks show, “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show and trick-or-treating throughout the park.

Florida Birding and Nature Festival Oct. 17-20
The four-day Florida Birding and Nature Festival will be held Oct. 17-20, Apollo Beach, Florida (just south of Tampa). The festival coincides with the peak of fall migration of birds through Central Florida. More than 180 species have been observed during previous festivals. The festival will feature field trips, boat excursions, seminars by experts, nationally renowned keynote speakers and a free nature expo.

Autumn Candlelight Tour at Ninety Six National Historic Site
Explore history by candlelight along the one-mile trail as living historians present historical scenes. Tours last about one hour and 15 minutes. Final tour starts at 9 p.m. Reservations are required. Oct. 19, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
