WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA
Loch Ness Returns May 10th!
Rejoice as Busch Gardens Williamsburg's landmark rollercoaster, marking 46 years, reopens this year after an extensive restoration. Inspired by the legendary Loch Ness Monster, which was reportedly first sighted in 564 in Scotland, the roller coaster was erected in 1978. The mythical creature resurfaces in 2024 as a revamped thrill ride, boasting an immersive narrative and state-of-the-art effects. Embark on a wild ride over an interpretation of Nessie's homeland on modernized steel track.
The experience begins in the reimagined queue, continues during the ascent, underscored by a fresh soundtrack created for the ride. When braving the initial plunge, eye a lurking beast beneath the water and race toward two intertwining loops at 60 mph. Next, emerge from a coiling tunnel to greet the monster in a dim lair.
Consistently loved by visitors, this unique double-looping steel coaster is a recognized icon, celebrated by coaster enthusiasts since it first opened.

EPCOT Debuts Ongoing Transformation
EPCOT's multi-year transformation launched in 2020 is heading toward completion with the recent unveiling of “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” a nighttime spectacular with fireworks, fountains, lights and music; and World Celebration Gardens, peaceful green spaces highlighted by a statue depicting visionary founder Walt Disney in a relaxed, seated pose. The park, formerly divided into Future World and World Showcase, now features World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery, each with a distinct focus and new attractions, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. More changes are on the way, specifically two exhibition spaces opening in World Celebration later this year. According to Scott Mallwitz, executive creative director of Walt Disney Imagineering, the transformation marks a shift away from the park’s brutalist architecture into an open-space, celebratory environment more in keeping with today’s preferences.
