Florida: Feb. 7–March 29, 2026Among the largest Renaissance festivals in the nation, the Florida Renaissance Festival kicks off the season, welcoming guests to Quiet Waters Park. Here, you can browse booths containing handcrafted wood and leather goods, soaps, jewelry and more. Stage performers and those walking the village’s paths entertain you with jokes, comments and delightful acts that were common in the 1500s. Marvel at thrilling jousts and an impressive trebuchet demonstration. New this year, the festival debuts its steampunk-inspired Gear Garden and gemstone mining. Don’t skip the festival’s famous RenFest pickle, an oversized dill pickle that offers hydration, salt and crunch. Tajin or Siracha can be added for a spicy kick.
Georgia: April 11–May 31, 2026The Georgia Renaissance Festival follows in April, giving travelers in the Southeast another opportunity for costumed fun. On Saturdays and Sundays, plus Memorial Day, walk the lanes in the replica medieval village that spreads across 32 acres near Atlanta. Acrobats, strolling minstrels and other performers keep you laughing and astounded with their acts. About 200 artisans also are present, selling their wares and sharing their handicrafts. The festival blends romantic fantasy with lighthearted family fun, through interactive games, themed weekends, hearty turkey legs and a theatrical atmosphere that welcomes everyone.
Indiana: April 25–May 24, 2026A few weeks into the Georgia Renaissance Festival, the Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire opens in Seymour, Indiana. This multi-weekend festival highlights a different theme each weekend, beginning with Celtic Folklore. Immerse yourself in Celtic stories, piping pipers and whirling dancers. Pirates and wenches arrive the next weekend, with promises of treasure, duels and tales of the high seas. They give way to fantastical creatures and fairies the third weekend. It’s a perfect family weekend of storybook fantasy brought to life. The real magic begins when wizards with wands appear for a weekend of potions, tricks and conjuring. The faire concludes with a final weekend of battle cries as Viking and shield maidens descend, bringing with them horns, animal skins, axes and pints ready to be filled with liquid merriment.
Renaissance Festival of Nebraska
Nebraska: May 2–17, 2026Head west to Nebraska, where the Renaissance Festival of Nebraska gets underway in Papillion. The state’s weekends-only festival has grown impressively since beginning in 2008 and now draws nearly 30,000 annual attendees to Bellevue Berry Farm. Thanks to the farm’s existing catering infrastructure, visitors enjoy Renaissance fare beyond the usual. They indulge in house-made roast pork, pies, street tacos, sweets and brunch buffets—all complemented by a fully licensed bar with a craft cocktail station and a large selection of meads, wines and imported German beers. As one of the festival’s organizers, Howard Coffin, says, “We’re a small faire with the trappings of a big festival!”
Tennessee: May 2–31, 2026
Alternatively, you could change course and venture south to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival in Arrington. Here, Covington Glen, an old-world escape complete with royal courts, artisan markets, music, jousting, jesters and jugglers, is open on weekends and Memorial Day. Participate in various games testing strength, weapons throwing ability, archery skills and more. Join the Queen’s Promenade and then tour the outside of the stunning, real-life Castle Gwynn, around which the festivities unfold. The “white castle” in the background makes this Renaissance festival truly unique.
Iowa: May 23–31, Oct. 10–18The Amana Colonies takes on the cloak of Elizabethan England when it welcomes the Iowa Renaissance Festival during weekends in late spring and mid fall. The celebration pairs historic European-inspired ambiance with artisan markets, jousting displays, music, feasting and colorful characters. Walk through living history encampments and frolic down lanes filled with bubbles and other merriment. Drums beat from stages, and witches cast spells—all within the realm of the festival’s king and queen.
Colorado: June, July and early AugustOff the beaten path most of the year, Colorado’s Renaissance grounds in Larkspur become a beaten path each summer when thousands of people traipse beneath the castle walls and into a scene of frivolity and contest. The jousting arena thunders with galloping hooves, while smaller stages host firebreathers and sword swallowers. Throughout it all weaves the Colorado Renaissance Festival—on a main stage, in the artisans’ booths, at the food halls and along the dirt walkways linking the beloved event all together. Although the festival closes in August, the Renaissance village never goes away; the permanent facility simply falls asleep. It recovers quietly in the undulating foothills south of Denver, undergoing maintenance and hosting small events until it awakens again each June.

BRISTOL RENAISSANCE FAIRE
Wisconsin: July–AugustThe Bristol Renaissance Faire pulls visitors from all over the Midwest, but mostly Illinois and Wisconsin, who come to “party like it’s 1599”! For performers and attendees, it’s all about authenticity and bringing history to life each summer. The elaborate village scenery, music, entertainment (including a hilarious mud pit), jousts and an extensive line-up of food that ranges from Cornish meat pies to simmering mushrooms create a lively atmosphere makes the faire one of the most iconic Renaissance events in the region each summer.
Michigan: Aug. 22–Oct. 4, 2026The Michigan Renaissance Festival picks up where the Colorado and Wisconsin festivals end, should you wish to continue time traveling among knights, fairies and wizards. Themed weekends allow you to dive deep into favorite flights of fancy, with artisans demonstrating period crafts as street performers mock modern inventions. Amplify your visit with merry add-ons, such as a feast, pub crawl, cocktail crawl or joining the king for happy hour at Blackstone Castle. Or, get up-close to birds of prey by participating in the Hawk Walk or help break a curse as part of the Royal Quest. These extra activities complement the calendar packed with traditional entertainment, food booths and contests.
Minnesota Renaissance Festival
Minnesota: Aug. 22–Oct. 4, 2026
Running concurrently with the festival in Michigan, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival pulls crowds from all over and is the largest Renfest in the country. It’s one of the few that allows dogs, and their presence makes for some fun crowd-watching since even the canines might be wearing costumes. This year marks its 55th season and is expected to be filled with top-notch productions, themed weekends, Asian food to Midwest fair food, craft demonstrations and immersive village storytelling. Ride an elephant, avoid the dungeon and learn to juggle—it’s all here for you to experience
South Carolina: Sept. 18-20, 2026As news of its greatness has spread, the Upstate Renaissance Faire has grown. It needs more space, so it is relocating this year to The Gathering Place in Moore, South Carolina! The event is carefully designed not merely as a marketplace, but as a story of the past. Roaming characters interact directly with guests, scripted moments pop up unexpectedly, and performers blur the line between spectator and participant. The faire celebrates fantasy, from fairies and mermaids to dragons and knights. Enjoy sword fighting contests, metalworking demonstrations, archery lessons, music and so much more at this young festival. It started just a few years ago, in 2021.
