Cobra Golf is certainly giving golfers lots to choose from when it comes to the company’s Radspeed fairway metals and hybrids.
Start with the fairways, which are available in three models – Radspeed Fairway, Radspeed Big Tour and Radspeed Draw. They all employ a technology called Radical Weighting that utilizes a thinner crown design that allowed engineers to position weight more forward in the clubhead, increasing ball speed in the process. The metals also boast the company’s Baffler split hollow rails, which are reported to increase flex on the leading edge by some 70 percent in an effort to add even more speed as they enhance turf interaction.
Of course, each model has its individual features and performance attributes. The Radspeed Fairway, for example, is traditionally shaped and designed to deliver minimal spin with high launch and forgiveness. It also uses a milled face that Cobra officials describe as being “five times more precise than hand-polished fairways” – and that is designed to maximize forgiveness.
As for the Big Tour and Tour versions, they both are endowed with 23 grams of front-biased weighting. The Big Tour 3-wood has a slightly oversized profile and a stronger loft setting, giving it the most speed and lowest spin of the Radspeed bunch. And the Tour 5-wood features a compact profile for maximum workability.
Then, there is Radspeed Draw, which comes with heel-based, internal weighting to create draw bias and medium to high ball flights and also improve forgiveness and slice correction power. It, too, employs a milled face.
With regards to the Radspeed hybrids, they are offered in standard and one-length models and emphasize front weighting for ultra-low spin, faster ball speed and increased distance. A forged, high-strength steel face insert and split hollow rails are included to create a lower center-of-gravity location, higher launch angles, more distance and enhanced playability from a variety of lies.
In addition, all these Radspeed models are equipped with Cobra Connect technology powered by Arccos, which uses electronically enabled grip sensors to automatically record the distance and accuracy of every shot, so golfers can track and analyze performance.
