Initially, Stitch Golf was known for the stylish headcovers it made. But these days, the North Carolina concern is equally as well regarded for the golf bags it produces, and the SL1 and the SL2 models have become among the most popular in the game.
Company officials describe the SL1 as “the perfect caddie bag.” They laud it for a design they call sleek yet classic, as well as for its use of Stitch Touring Fabric, which is said to have the strength of leather while also being more durable and water resistant that that material.
At 57 ounces (just a tick heavier than 3½ pounds), the SL1 also is lightweight, which makes it a big hit among caddies. Loopers like the efficiency of the two pockets on either side of this stand bag, which makes it possible to carry it on either the left or right side, as well as the top vent pockets, where valuables and a beverage may be stashed. A single cushioned strap is included to make the bag easy to carry. Golfers also can personalize this bag by having their initials engraved on a Signature Ingot.
As for the SL2, it has been dubbed “the perfect walking bag.” It, too, is made of the Stitch Touring Fabric and features a stand. But the SL2 also offers the versatility of a single or double strap and comes equipped with one full-length apparel pocket, a golf ball pocket, a pocket lined with felt for valuables and one insulated for a beverage. At 64 ounces, it is just a tad heavier than the SL1.
