New extensions to the Adicross collection were born in many ways from feedback that officials at Adidas Golf received from its core consumers. “Like everyone else, golfers live in a complex, busy world with many diverse interests,” said Dylan Moore, the company’s creative director. “They expect more from less and demand performance out of what they wear on and off the course.”
As a result, Adidas began working on new apparel offerings that recently were released under the Adicross name. Featuring what Moore calls urban-inspired and non-traditional offerings, the line includes Anorak jackets, Henley shirts and stretch-woven Oxfords as well as hoodies and joggers.
Dustin Johnson is among those Adidas athletes who have been donning items from that line.
“This is something that I’ll wear when I’m traveling to a tournament, practicing at home or even headed to the gym,” Johnson said. “It’s just a cool look I am really excited about.”
A number of the Adicross apparel products (the Henleys and also T-shirts and pique polos) use what company officials call “no-show technology,” which boasts a sweat-wicking double-knit material that eliminates the appearance of sweat. A nylon-spandex blend is employed in the five-pocket pant and short, and a soft and stretchy material called Primeknit is used in the Icon Polo and Jacket.
“We wanted to challenge ourselves to design a line that would aid in helping athletes in their game, their life and their world,” said Chad Alasantro, senior designer of men’s apparel at Adidas Golf. “Adicross is the perfect blend of hidden technology, fused with a creative aesthetic.”
