T he construction on Cameron Street relating to the widening of I-83 will continue for many more months. The sidewalks on the west side of Cameron Street have now been removed, requiring Greenbelt riders to detour around the county building at 1100 South Cameron (the corner of Cameron & Sycamore) and return to South Cameron Street just south of the construction work.
As noted elsewhere in this edition CAGA is working with the City, state government, and CAGA supporters to establish a permanent path for the Greenbelt in South Harrisburg. Until then, probably sometime in 2027, CAGA members will cheerfully adapt to ever changing conditions and merrily enjoy our de facto Greenbelt. Follow the “Temporary Detour” signs.
