“Stella” is a stellated icosahedron structure with integrated lighting hovering over the three-story atrium of the Kiewit Luminarium in Omaha, NE. Once darkness falls, light from static and dynamic fixtures reflect and refract off the structure and cast disco-ball-like effects around the museum for evening events. The unique entryway by HDR earned a 2024 IES Illumination Award of Merit.
