Nestled above the historic waters of Pearl Harbor, Pearl at Kalauao has undergone a remarkable transformation that redefines what a modern public golf and dining destination can be in Hawai‘i.
Once a dated 1980s-era clubhouse, the reimagined facility now embodies a seamless blend of contemporary design, cultural respect, and community connection.
As a locally owned and operated property, the vision behind the renovation was rooted in honoring Hawai‘i’s heritage – caring for both the land and the people who gather upon it.
The new 24,000-square-foot clubhouse captures this spirit through open, light-filled spaces, natural materials, and thoughtful architectural flow that celebrate the island’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Enhancements include a fully reconfigured restaurant and kitchen, a new full-service bar, expanded lanai dining, and a dramatically enlarged ballroom featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Pearl Harbor and the course’s lush fairways – one of the few venues on O‘ahu’s south shore offering such a view.
The popularity of the restaurant has nearly tripled since reopening, driven by an elevated, farm-to-table menu inspired by the property’s ʻĀina Pauahi program, which highlights ingredients sourced from local farms and partners across Hawai‘i. From crisp watercress grown nearby at Sumida Farms – located within the same ahupua‘a (traditional land division) – to locally raised meats from Honolulu Meat Company and Kō Hana Rum crafted on local farmland, each dish tells a story of sustainability, connection, and pride in place.
The ballroom expansion now accommodates up to 320 guests, creating a modern and elegant space for weddings, corporate events, and large community gatherings, while the addition of an in-house baker allows Pearl to craft artisan breads, pastries, and desserts entirely from scratch, elevating quality and enjoyment.
Beyond the walls, a newly designed 1,500-square-foot multi-use turf space provides a versatile setting for outdoor celebrations, overlooking the ninth and 18th greens and seamlessly integrating with the golf experience.
On the golf course, upgraded E-Z-GO carts equipped with mobile ordering technology have improved guest convenience by seamlessly adding their favorite snack and beverage to their round.
Since reopening, Pearl at Kalauao has experienced not just revitalized operations and record-breaking growth, but a complete reinvention of its guest experience – one that blends hospitality, heritage, and innovation. What was once a tired facility has become a vibrant, design-forward destination where guests gather, celebrate, and connect through golf, food, and aloha.
With its stunning views, locally inspired cuisine, and thoughtful architectural renewal, Pearl at Kalauao now stands as a shining example of how modern hospitality in Hawai‘i can elevate experience while staying true to its roots.
