First Tee Leadership Summit in Montana
Each August, dozens of First Tee youth golfers from the organization’s numerous national chapters are invited to its Leadership Summit, an event held over two sessions in August. The session aims to articulate participants’ personal leadership statements, demonstrate adaptability, and seek out and leverage feedback to motivate, inspire, and empower themselves and others, according to its webpage. This year, West Creek Ranch in Emigrant, Mont. served as the summit’s setting, providing participants with unforgettable activities best enjoyed in Big Sky Country.
Among the series of developmental and positive challenges was a few holes of golf at the Rising Sun Golf Course at Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, whitewater rafting and fly fishing on the Yellowstone River, and horseback riding, to name a few.
The summit is done in collaboration between First Tee and the PGA TOUR Superstore. Participants are selected from application pools of those from the latter’s markets. Making their way to Montana this year were First Tee youth golfers of their North Florida, Greater Philadelphia, Tennessee, Rocky Mountain and Silicon Valley chapters, among many, many others across the U.S.
