A Year of Record Growth and Shared Success
As we wrap up 2025, I want to express my sincere gratitude to every member, volunteer, course partner, and stakeholder who made this such a remarkable year for Oregon golf.
Whether you played a championship round, posted a twilight nine, hosted an event, or simply renewed your OGA membership, you’ve helped shape one of the most impactful and inspiring years our association has ever seen.
Record Numbers, Real Impact
The numbers this year speak volumes about the health and vibrancy of golf within our territory. We surpassed 59,000 collective adult and junior OGA members, setting a new all-time high watermark. Our membership is more engaged than ever – and with nearly 1.7 million rounds posted by OGA members alone in 2025, participation has never been stronger.
This groundswell of support echoes what we’ve seen across the broader ecosystem. In partnership with the Golf Alliance of Oregon, we commissioned a comprehensive Economic Impact Study based on 2024 data, and the results are both validating and energizing.
The total economic impact of golf in Oregon is now estimated at $2.4 billion. This includes $1.6 billion in direct impact – from course operations, retail, tourism, real estate, and capital improvements – and $800 million in indirect and induced activity.
Golf supports 18,000 jobs, delivers $639 million in wages, and contributes $252 million annually in state and local taxes – helping fund schools, public services, infrastructure, and more.
Oregon’s golf economy firmly punches above its weight class, outperforming states with larger populations thanks to our nationally renowned destinations, deep community roots, and shared commitment to excellence.
Oregon as a Golf Destination
Travel and tourism continue to be key pillars of this momentum. In 2024 alone, Oregon welcomed an estimated 2.9 million golf-related trips, including 1.8 million out-of-state visits and 1.9 million overnight stays. These travelers generated a staggering $838 million in statewide travel-related golf spending, supporting restaurants, hotels, small businesses, and more across urban and rural markets alike.
Counties like Deschutes, Coos, Multnomah, Washington, and Lane were top beneficiaries of golf visitor spending, showcasing the diversity and accessibility of the Oregon golf experience. Whether it’s Bandon Dunes drawing global acclaim or local courses introducing the game to new players, Oregon continues to deliver unmatched value to golfers and communities alike.
Homegrown Brands with Global Reach
Oregon is home to an incredible ecosystem of golf innovation and entrepreneurship. From household names like Nike Golf, Columbia, and Adidas, to Oregon-born brands like Jones Sports Co., Seamus Golf, L.A.B. Golf, Payntr, MacKenzie, and Matchstick Golf, the state’s impact on the global golf marketplace continues to grow.
These brands represent craftsmanship, creativity, and a deep connection to the game – and they reflect the same passion that fuels the broader Oregon golf community.
A Championship Season to Remember
The OGA hosted another full slate of championships and events in 2025, with more than 10,000 individual participants teeing it up across the state.
At the top of the leaderboard this season were Zach Foushee and Kyra Ly, who each delivered consistent, high-level performances throughout the year to earn recognition as our OGA Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year. Among juniors, we proudly recognize Cade McVicker and Madeleine Conser as our Junior Boys’ and Junior Girls’ Players of the Year, respectively – both showcasing competitive excellence and sportsmanship on and off the course.
Oregon also excelled in team play, with Team Oregon earning co-champion honors at the Morse Cup during the Pacific Coast Amateur and won the following team championships: PNGA Lamey Cup, North Pacific Junior Ladies, and the Eddie Hogan Cup.
Celebrating Our Volunteers and Leaders
None of this success happens without the selfless efforts of the individuals who give their time, knowledge, and heart to this game. This year, we proudly thank and recognize:
