In February 1970, our very own Momentum magazine published an article called ‘Facing The Bar of Judgment’ on building parent engagement. A passionate, if somewhat adversarial article by today’s standards reflected by the nature of its headline! Author Mary Angela-Harper’s focus was on a demand for a more structured governance model via the Home and School Associations.
Her article called for better systems in order to ensure the rules of engagement between parents, school and parish were more closely adhered to thus ensuring a better outcome for all.
