Great article by John Hopkins (“Dreams take step forward with G4D Open,” May 15 GGP).
I was reminded of my first volunteer gig at the inaugural 2022 U.S. Adaptive Open at Pinehurst, North Carolina. No doubt many of the golfers whom Hopkins saw also were there.
I do remember assisting Kipp Popert’s group. That guy can hit it a mile. Everyone in the field was extremely talented. Excellent golf. Friendly, appreciative players.
I’ll be back at Pinehurst in July for the U.S. Adaptive Open.

I read with great interest John Hopkins’ item about the recent disabled golfers’ tournament at Woburn (“Dreams take step forward with G4D Open,” May 15 GGP).
The competitors are truly an inspiration for all who love and enjoy this frustrating game called golf.
Hopkins commented that it was disappointing that there were so few spectators to support such a worthy event. Indeed, Hopkins is right, but in reality, how many people were aware that it was on? I live and play about 30 minutes away from Woburn and certainly would have supported the event, not least as it was free, but had no idea it was on.
It’s all very well posting your splendid column after the event, but how about giving a little advance notice of such events where support would be most welcome.

Excellent article by John Hopkins about the G4D Open at Woburn (“Dreams take step forward with G4D Open,” May 15 GGP).
The amazing film “Mulligan” needs to be promoted more.

Absolutely beautiful and brilliant work by John Hopkins (“Dreams take step forward with G4D Open,” May 15 GGP).
I am coaching Adam Whitt, a young professional who pitched in the Houston Astros organization until cancer nearly took his life. He has become a very good young player, with his low round being a 29-33–62, and is the Utah Long Drive champion, at 435 yards.
My mentor, the late Billy Casper, encouraged me that while you have the privilege of working with the champions of our game, don’t forget the club golfers and those with physical, mental and emotional challenges, and I never have.

Great to see (“Dreams take step forward with G4D Open,” May 15 GGP).
Having been an active golfer for 23 years and being diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, I have had to give up my weekly golf rounds. But I now have something to aim for, having played all three courses at Woburn.
It would be good to see the course again and hear the rattle of the ball as it disappears through the trees.

If reader Richard “Doc” Miller turned up his volume, he might have learned that Jim “Bones” Mackay has been on Justin Thomas’ bag for the last year and a half (“It’s Your Honor,” May 15 GGP)

They have chosen to leave the two main tours to join LIV Golf, playing what are basically exhibition matches for trophies that have no meaning (“Stunning reversal for Europe’s Ryder Cup legacy,” May 8 GGP). So, no, they have made their choice.
Thanks for your service. Now, mind the door doesn't hit you in the arse on your way out.
