Chris Kamin of Phoenix, Arizona, shot 6-under 207 on his way to a five-stroke victory on Thursday in the Trans-Miss Mid-Master Championship at Hacienda Golf Club in La Habra Heights, California.
Kamin after he also won the event in 2018. There was little drama to be had as Kamin authored three under-par rounds to break free of the field, ahead of runner-up Jonathan Minkoff of Glendale, California. First-round leader Marc Engellenner finished solo third at 2-over 215.
It’s been a tremendous stretch of golf for Kamin, whom we profiled earlier this month. He has won the past two Arizona Stroke Play Championships and has cleaned up in the state’s biggest amateur events.
In the senior division, Jon Lindstrom of Denver, Colorado, shot 4-under 209 to win by two strokes over John Adams of San Clemente, California. Lindstrom opened with a 6-under 65 and held on with a pair of 72s to close out the tournament. The 55-year-old Lindstrom is the first Colorado resident to win the Trans-Miss Senior, an event that debuted in 2000.
It’s another big win for Lindstrom, who captured the International Senior Individual Championship in 2022. The three-time Colorado Mid-Am winner also won the Heron Creek National Senior earlier this year.
