TaylorMade’s Qi Max and Qi Max HL offer the company’s most complete game-improvement iron options, bridging the gap between performance and design in the areas of distance, forgiveness, feel, sound and aesthetics.
“Golfers in the game-improvement category today are demanding more from their irons than just distance and forgiveness; they want irons that sound, feel and look great as well,” said Matt Bovee, TaylorMade’s director of product for wedges and irons.
Qi Max and Qi Max HL irons ($1,100 per set) feature a sound stabilization bar that connects the back bar to the top line, reducing unwanted vibration and creating a more solid feeling (and sounding) strike.
While most game-improvement irons flex more on the toe at impact and create an unwanted fade bias, a patented technology in Qi Max allows the entire face to flex uniformly at impact for a straighter, more consistent ball flight.
Qi Max irons are sleeker and more compact with a thinner top line and reduced offset for a more “aspirational” player’s look.
Qi Max HL irons have a larger profile, thicker top line and more offset for golfers who gain confidence in a head with a lot of surface area and mass. The HL have 3-degree weaker lofts than Qi Max and are a choice for golfers with moderate to slower swing speeds.
