Callaway’s new Quantum Mini Spinner is designed to offer more spin, control and confidence than traditional fairway woods and hybrids when attacking greens from a distance.
With a compact, deep profile that’s optimized for higher spin, the Quantum Mini Spinner lineup (7, 9 and 11 models, $379.99) bridges the gap between fairway woods and irons to offer more stopping power to hold the green from long range.
“We really feel like we’ve created a new category here with a product that’s going to solve a problem for a wide range of players,” said Jacob Davidson, Callaway’s VP of global product strategy. “We refer to the Quantum Mini Spinner as the scoring wood. It’s a new option in the top of the bag, for players who want the launch of a high-lofted fairway wood and a steeper descent angle and more spin for greater stopping power.”
The Mini Spinner’s unique construction – three-quarters of an inch shorter than traditional fairways with a taller face profile – features a high center of gravity paired with an AI-optimized high-spin face design, a combination that Callaway engineers say promotes increased spin, enhanced stopping power and tighter dispersion for more controlled approach shots.
The 7- and 9-wood Mini Spinner models feature a lightweight carbon step sole that allows mass to be repositioned higher in the head to raise the center of gravity to enhance control.
“The way that this club sets up with a shorter length, it’s more approachable. Impact locations are going to be a lot more consistent,” said Evan Gibbs, Callaway’s senior R&D director of woods. “Players are going to tend to hit a little bit more down on it and feel that they can do that with a deeper face. The big performance difference is going to be the increased spin rate, which is going to provide more consistency and less roll out when it lands on the green.”
