Following damage inflicted by Storm Babet in late 2023, the club hired architect Gil Hanse late last year to “polish and protect” the links. Eight weeks of work to shore up the coastline along the second and third holes has been completed, with more work along the 13th and 14th holes due to begin soon, Golf Digest reported.

The award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the spirit of the game on a global scale and displays the values, behaviours and traditions inherent to golf.
“As someone who has spent my entire life in the game of golf it is so meaningful to be recognised for my impact on golf across the world, not only from a playing point of view but for also upholding values which are so integral to the sport,” the 46-year-old Aussie said in a release announcing the honor.
“Adam is a fantastic ambassador for the sport who has made a significant positive impact on golf all around the world,” said Mark Darbon, the R&A’s chief executive, during his pre-tournament news conference last Wednesday. “He’s the ultimate professional and has consistently displayed integrity, respect, and passion for the game.” READ MORE
The opening of an ultra-exclusive golf club in what is considered New Jersey’s poorest county has generated criticism of Major League Baseball star Mike Trout, a club co-founder who hails from the area, according to an NJ.com report.
Trout National Golf Club – The Reserve, which opened in April and features an 18-hole layout designed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design, sits behind 15-foot stone walls in the Cumberland County cities of Millville and Vineland, where Trout has long been regarded as a local hero. The county has New Jersey’s highest poverty rate, lowest median household income and an 8 percent unemployment rate, the report said.
