Titleist drivers capped a pretty good week at the Players Championship when Cameron Young’s titanic blast off the 18th tee helped secure the biggest victory of his career. Young led five of the top seven finishers all with Titleist drivers in their bags at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course. A week later at the Valspar Championship, each of the top three finishers including winner Matthew Fitzpatrick used a Titleist GT driver.
Last week, players in the PGA Tour and LPGA fields got their first opportunity to game the newest generation of Titleist driver technology – the GTS.
The lineup of three new Titleist driver models – GTS2, GTS3 and GTS4 – were being seeded at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, the LPGA’s Ford Championship and the Korn Ferry Tour’s Club Car Championship where more than 50 players made immediate switch to new drivers.
In Houston, 24 players immediately put GTS drivers in their bags – 18 players in the GTS2 (tied for the most-played model in the field) and six in the GTS3.
“I’m pumped,” said Michael Brennan, a Titleist brand ambassador, after a prototype testing session late last year. “I was disappointed I couldn’t play it, put it right in the bag. I love my GT, but I’m looking forward to the ‘S’ coming out here soon.”
The new GTS drivers made debuts on the PGA, LPGA and Korn Ferry tours last week.

While tech details of the yet-to-be-released GTS drivers aren’t available, the ‘S’ seems to suggest that Titleist is emphasizing the speed element in its GT lineup. “Finally, a driver faster than GT,” hailed a Titleist forum post.
“This is really good, guys,” said Will Zalatoris as he dialed in his preferences on the range and stuck the GTS3 in his bag. He cited “fast” and “great audio” in his first reaction feedback.
Johnny Keefer was trying out a GTS3 7-wood with dual weights that got equipment geeks talking.
Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau will ride the momentum of two consecutive LIV Golf victories to the Masters, having won playoffs in Singapore and South Africa. But will his irons at Augusta be different?
DeChambeau was spotted testing some new irons with the brand covered in lead tape ahead of the South Africa event. He’s had success with his custom Avoda Prototype irons, but you never know what Bryson will do next.
