Wilson Sporting Goods Co. added to its popular D9 club range launched last year by introducing the D9 Forged irons, boasting the combination of a player’s look with forgiving performance.
Using the generative computer design process it first employed on the original D9 range, which simulates a wide variety of club head and data variations, Wilson developed a new asymmetrical arrangement for the D9 Forged heads to increase contact time with the ball for maximum speed and distance.
A lower center of gravity provides a higher launch and increased peak trajectory to deliver more carry and a steeper descent angle resulting in greater stopping power. The premium carbon forged heads combine exceptional feel with a thin topline and minimal offset at address.
“With D9 Forged, we’re able to deliver the look and feel demanded by players at every level with the distance and forgiveness they need,” said Tim Clarke, president of Wilson Golf.
The Wilson D9 Forged irons have stock shaft options of True Temper Dynamic Gold VVS steel (95R and 105S) and the Mamiya UST Recoil Dart in graphite and feature a Wilson Staff Lamkin Crossline grip.
The new line (5-iron through pitching wedge and gap wedge) is priced at $1,049.99 for steel shafts and $1,149.99 for graphite shafts.
