TaylorMade’s Stealth Plus and Stealth family brings its carbon revolution to its new and expanded lineup of fairways and rescue hybrids.
The Stealth Plus fairways feature a refined 175cc profile designed to blend playability, shot making and distance. While the address area is only 2 percent larger than the SIM2 model, its all-new infinity edge carbon crown redistributes weight lower in the clubhead and creates a face area 12 percent larger to provide improved performance on off-center hits.
The Stealth fairway model has a larger profile (190cc) than the Plus with an all-new 3D carbon crown that shifts weight lower and deeper in the clubhead to combine distance and forgiveness. It features a C300 Twist Face, delivering top-line 3-wood speed and an 80-gram V Steel sole to promote versatility, forgiveness and reduced turf drag.
Both models have an advanced laser alignment aid that stretches across the top of the face to provide visual cues that influence alignment at address and how the club is delivered at impact. The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket provides increased face flexibility, preservation of ball speed and distance, especially on low-face strikes.
Its women’s fairway models offer modified specs in the form of lighter heads and higher lofts in some cases, all designed to promote better performance for slower clubhead speeds.
“We designed the family of Stealth fairway woods with increased MOI for added forgiveness without sacrificing the high launch and low spin results that produce the marquee distance golfers have come to expect from TaylorMade fairways,” said Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation, metalwoods.
The Stealth Plus and Stealth Rescues offer new refinements sparked by feedback from tour pros who have been adopting hybrid usage more frequently in recent years.
The Stealth Plus Rescue has an iron-like high-toe profile and compact overall footprint to make it easier to control trajectory and shot shape, while maintaining added forgiveness compared to long irons. Its redesigned V Steel sole positions weight low in the club to encourage optimal launch properties and enhance turf interaction. It also features a sleeve that provides +/- 1.5 degrees loft adjustability to optimize trajectory.
The Stealth Rescue has a new carbon crown construction allowing the relocation of 7 grams lower in the head to better position the center of gravity for easy launch, optimal forgiveness, and better stability through impact.
Both Rescue models have a high-strength C300 steel face to deliver explosive ball speeds and a Twist Face design to help golfers overcome inherent mis-hit tendencies for straighter shots. The hyper-flexible Speed Pocket design is engineered to maximize ball speeds and produce additional forgiveness on low-face strikes.
