The primary technology in Galway Bay’s latest All-Weather rainwear line is Hydro-Flex 32, a proprietary, three-layer waterproof fabric that is constructed with a hydrophilic interior designed to pull moisture away from the skin and transfer it to the outer layer.
The fabric is also made to regulate temperature in both hot and cold conditions. And the newest iteration of this material is described by company chief operating officer Michael Brown as being “more breathable and stretchable than ever before.”
In addition, he says, the All-Weather rainwear Galway Bay brought out this past summer is quieter and lighter than before, while also having “the same level of waterproofness” of previous versions.
The All-Weather line is made up of three pieces: a long-sleeve jacket, matching pants and also a short-sleeve jacket. Of particular note are the pants, which now come in standard and tailored fit options and can be ordered to fit a golfer’s waist and inseam sizes.
As for the jacket, Brown says that the collar in that piece is high in the back, to keep a golfer’s neck dry while tapering down in the front so it does not poke a player’s chin. And the zippers are rubberized to ensure that water does not leak through them in any way.
