Tour Edge founder and president David Glod says the performance and design goals of the new Exotics 721 Series are “to provide every level of golfer two extreme distance irons that feature full-face forgiveness and ball speed with a perfected sound and feel.”
The line consists of two models, the C721, which Glod describes as a player’s distance iron, and the E721, which he says is for “extreme game improvement.”
Both feature a technology called Dual VibRCore that entails the injection of a high-grade thermoplastic polyurethane into the hollow-body pocket of the C721 and the undercut pocket of the E721, to dampen sound and shock while producing faster ball speeds and improving forgiveness.
They also utilize full-face Diamond Face 2.0 technology, in which dozens of different diamond shapes placed behind the clubface act as mini-trampolines to create faster ball speeds. In addition, they further enhance forgiveness by expanding the sweet spot.
But there are differences as well. For example, the C721 has a two-piece, cast body with a forged, military-grade maraging steel face. And the club possesses a smaller, more classic head shape as well as a thinner topline.
As for the E721, it boasts a one-piece steel body with a 360-degree undercut design that lowers the center of gravity for higher launches and increases face flexing for more elevated ball speeds. That design also increases forgiveness across the clubface, as does extreme toe weighting.
