The Hydro series with DryJoys waterproof technology boasts a number of rain jacket options, the newest of which is the HydroTour. Released in mid-July, it features three-panel construction with fewer seams and multi-direction stretch fabric designed to provide a full range of motion through the golf swing while delivering what company officials call “maximum protection” in cooler conditions. Those officials also describe the HydroTour as “minimalist yet highly protective” and assert that it carries a waterproof rating above 20,000mm of water column pressure.
In other words, it is made to withstand extreme conditions.
The HydroTour is also equipped with a proprietary DrySeal double collar. The inner portion uses a stay-dry cinch cord that is made to keep rain out as well as drainage grommets to move water away from the collar opening.
“We wanted to design a rain jacket that was the ultimate seal from the elements,” said P.J. Skurla, senior apparel designer for FootJoy. “The combination of three-panel construction with the DrySeal collars minimizes any chance of rain water reaching the body, keeping you dry and comfortable in the worst conditions.”
In addition to featuring four full-zip rain jackets, the HydroTour line includes rain pants.
