Golfers and non-golfers alike can stay active and engaged through The R&A’s #GolfAtHome campaign, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact society.
While players are missing time on the course, the social media campaign is encouraging golfers of all ages and abilities to get creative by sharing photos and videos of themselves or their family practicing golf at home or in the garden, provided it is in a safe and responsible manner.
Beginners, club golfers, elite amateurs and leading professionals have been showcasing their skills.
In recent days, R&A ambassador Georgia Hall, the 2018 Women’s British Open champion, has joined the campaign, providing a new social series focusing on what you can do to improve your game at home.
Through short tutorial videos in Hall’s #GolfAtHome guide, the 24-year-old has been offering tips on chipping and how to grip the club, with more to come.
Leading golf broadcaster and fitness enthusiast Iona Stephen is also supporting the activity, sharing her lockdown experience at home in St Andrews. To help people through this time both physically and mentally, Stephen is sharing fitness routines, healthy recipes and practice drills.
Or why not hear from stars from the sport by tuning in to The Open podcasts? Recently launched, listen to Open Conversation with Champion Golfer of the Year, Shane Lowry, on your favourite podcast platform. Look out for new episodes every Tuesday.
