Accra Golf Shafts, a division of True Sports, is expanding its popular iSeries line with the release of a new steel version for irons that uses technologies found in other brands (True Temper and Project X) under the True Sports umbrella. The product features what company engineers describe as “a unique dual-step design” that combines the feel of a stepped shaft with the stability and feedback of a stepless shaft from the midsection down. It is available in three weights – 105, 115 and 125 grams – and is made so that fitters can dial in performance with 10 dedicated lengths in each model.
“The iSeries steel represents a huge step forward for Accra and our fitting partners,” said Gawain Robertson, the shaft maker’s co-founder. “Our iSeries graphite shafts have long been a favorite for their performance and versatility, and we now provide those same benefits in a high-end steel shaft.”
The iSeries steel is also unique for being the first from True Sports that is finished with a new process called Eco-Shield. According to Accra officials, that method allows them to eliminate the need for traditional plating with heavy metals as well as the use of numerous acids and other chemicals while also saving water.
