"The Section is excited to have Ronnie with his experience and enthusiasm, join the team," said Brett Kleinkopf, Director of Operations. “We appreciate the efforts of Lucas Brick, PGA Career Consultant, Vaughn Jenkins, Executive Director, for their efforts in helping identify Ronnie as our next tournament director." BOISE GOLF SHOW Success
The Rocky Mountain Section PGA made a tremendous impact at the early-February Boise Golf & Travel Show, showcasing the game of golf while connecting with hundreds of community members and families throughout the weekend. As one of the key attractions at the show, the Section’s booth was a hub of activity, engagement, and excitement for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
A major highlight of the event was the promotion and sale of the Section’s popular Golf Pass discount books, which generated strong interest from attendees looking to experience golf throughout the region at exceptional value. The Golf Pass continues to serve as an important initiative supporting both player engagement and PGA Professionals across the Rocky Mountain Section.
In addition to promoting the game, the Section delivered on its mission of growing participation by offering free golf lessons led by local PGA Professionals. These sessions created memorable first-touch experiences for many attendees, while also providing valuable instruction for those already involved in the game.
Perhaps the most meaningful impact came through youth engagement efforts. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of the Rocky Mountain Section Foundation and its partners, more than 500 junior golf clubs were distributed to children attending the show. The smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm from young participants and their families were a clear reminder of the power golf has to inspire the next generation.
The Section also took the opportunity to promote the life-changing work of PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), sharing information about how the program serves veterans and active-duty military through the therapeutic benefits of golf. Increasing awareness of PGA HOPE remains a priority for the Rocky Mountain Section as it continues to expand opportunities for those who have served.
Overall, the Boise Golf & Travel Show was a tremendous success for the Rocky Mountain Section PGA, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement, player development, and growing the game across Idaho and the entire region. Events like this continue to highlight the leadership and dedication of Rocky Mountain Section PGA Professionals in making golf more accessible, welcoming, and impactful for everyone.
