On February 23rd and 24th, the Northern California PGA gathered at the historic Lake Merced Golf Club in San Francisco for the 2026 Player Teacher Forum. Over two days the event served as a powerhouse of professional development, blending cutting-edge instruction with the camaraderie that defines our section.
The 2026 lineup featured a diverse roster of industry leaders, providing attendees with a 360-degree view of the modern game. From elite-level coaching to the nuances of the professional tour, the insights shared were both actionable and inspiring.
● The Short Game & Strategy: Parker McLachlin (The Short Game Chef) and John Ortega shared elite scoring secrets, while Ralph Bauer provided a masterclass on putting mechanics and green reading.
● The Full Swing & Biomechanics: Milo Lines and Jon Horner, PGA, dove deep into athletic movement patterns, helping professionals simplify complex swing dynamics for their students.
● The Professional Perspective: We were honored to host PGA Tour veteran Kirk Triplett, who provided invaluable "inside the ropes" perspectives on longevity and competitive mindset.
● Legendary Leadership: Laird Small, PGA Master Professional, reminded us why he is a cornerstone of golf education, offering wisdom on the art of coaching.
● Innovation & The Next Gen: The Kingdom TaylorMade showcased the latest in equipment fitting technology, and Kaleiya Romero added a fresh, dynamic perspective on the evolving landscape of competitive golf.
Beyond the formal presentations, the forum was a massive success due to the incredible showing of NCPGA Professionals. The energy at Lake Merced was palpable, with a packed house of members eager to share ideas, refine their craft, and strengthen the bonds of our local golf community.
Whether it was during the breakout sessions on the range or the networking mixers in the clubhouse, the exchange of knowledge between peers was just as vital as the presentations themselves.
The 2026 Player Teacher Forum was more than just a seminar; it was a celebration of the tireless work our Professionals do to grow the game. We left San Francisco with sharper skills, new friends, and a renewed passion for the 2026 season.
