Identifying member benefits and present-day topics of relevance is always a priority for the section office. Beginning in March, the section we will conduct two in-depth, full-day education summits that hit on all areas of the golf business.
The first offering will take place these will be held on March 10th at the First Tee – Connecticut in Cromwell, Conn. This Golf Operations Summit will include topics such as tournament software, merchandising, and ladies and junior golf programming.
Section members and award winners will present on their area of expertise.
The section will return to the First Tee homesite on March 24th for a Teaching & Coaching Summit with 2025 PGA Player Development Award winner Michael Jacobs leading the presentation.
Shifting gears to the Foundation, the inaugural Golf in Schools program is off the ground and operating with seven weeks of programming on the books at different elementary schools. Students are led by staff members Sally Sohn, PGA and William Mitchell in fun and engaging golf activities during physical education class.
Following the week of fun and learning, students and families learn about the many ways they can take their newfound passion for the game to programs such as Drive, Chip, & Putt and PGA Jr. League.
