Athleisure-inspired pieces that work both on and off the course are attracting everyone from seasoned golfers to those who have taken up the game in recent years
Moving into the fall 2026 season, golf apparel continues to embody an active lifestyle look that performs for sport but is also appropriate for most daily activities. This movement toward technically advanced, elevated pieces that work across settings is giving golf shops an opportunity to expand their clientele among not only seasoned golfers, but the influx of participants who have entered the game in recent years.
“One of the biggest trends in golf apparel right now is the shift in the golf shop customer demographic,” says Kennedy Bodiford, PGA of America Head Professional at Tokatee Golf Club in Blue River, Oregon. “The golf consumer who will spend money in your shop is getting younger, and that change is directly influencing what sells. There’s a strong move toward athleisure-inspired pieces that work both on and off the course, blending performance with everyday style.”
Jim Raymond, PGA, Head Professional at Kingsley (Michigan) Club, also emphasizes the importance of versatility in today’s golf apparel and being a one-stop shop for golfers, saying, “I feel our members and guests are looking for more comfortable, everyday clothing like hoodies, T-shirts and headwear you can wear on the course, out to a casual dinner or while hanging at home with family and friends.”
The Golfer’s Aspirational Lifestyle
The influence of lifestyle in golf can be seen in Holderness & Bourne’s fall collection, whose lineup features polos in performance jersey knit, performance pique, ultra-breathable AIRATION and performance cotton; middle layers like a crewneck sweater in a Merino wool/plush cashmere blend and super-soft performance blend quarter-zip with a heathered stripe; and season-extending outerwear like the Kenan windproof grid-fleece style jacket with thermoregulation, and Wells Vest and Jacket that keep you warm and reduce bulk for “maximum mobility.”
The fall line from Harlestons embraces a cozier, more relaxed direction in items like the Yachtsman Pocket Polo, Cotton Tee, Chuck Hoodie and Summit Hoodie. Also look for an expanded range of prints, including geometric patterns drawn from natural elements like foliage, wildlife and organic motifs, as well as a color palette that transitions from Vintage America’s washed reds, ocean blues and soft grays to Carolina Evening’s burnt orange and muted sage, and Lowcountry Holiday’s rich maroon and forest green.
At the same time, Ahead’s collection builds on the momentum of the best-selling Stiles Quarter-Zip – the brand’s buttery-smooth, go-anywhere layer – with the introduction of a new hooded silhouette called the Monahan. Rich, textured fabrics anchor the collection, bringing depth and tactile appeal to performance essentials like the Jasper, a lightweight hoodie with an ultra-soft hand feel; Oliver, a textured quarter-zip that elevates a core staple; and Graham, a performance-driven quarter-zip featuring a subtle geometric texture.
Sun Day Red, described as a “golf-inspired technical lifestyle brand,” features items like the Crosswind Polo, whose ventilation pattern makes it excel in warmer climates; Magnolia Quarter-Zip and Hoodie with lightweight UV Protection and high stretch in a classic mini gingham; and Pacific Luxe Mock Neck Quarter Zip in an “ultra-soft luxurious” blended fabric that takes you from the “course to the clubhouse.”
J. Lindeberg explores the “winter lifestyle” in a cohesive wardrobe where “modern design meets technical precision.” The company, known for its progressive European influence, presents a modern and active lineup of versatile pieces, including the Devyn Pant with tee pocket detail, Tour Tech Print Polo, Warren Crewneck Windbreaker and Vent 500 Golf Sneaker.
At the same time, Scales Gear sharpens its coastal edge with a palette of cool ice blues and energized aqua reef tones, delivering a “crisp, modern punch to fall dressing.” The company stays locked into its signature fabrications – marked by comfort, performance and long-term durability – bringing in new layering pieces designed to work with core styles and allow for “easy transitions and real-world versatility.”
Ashworth’s philosophy of “premium performance inspired by walking the world’s most captivating courses” is channeled in three fall collections: St. Lucia, which comes alive through azure blues and tropical greens in performance prints and engineered nautical stripes; St. George’s Hill, paying homage to classic British golf with subtle earth tones and heritage-inspired patterns; and the Palms, which reflects desert golf’s vibrant fairway greens and palm silhouettes set against blue skies. Among other noteworthy additions are a new Aeroflex layering system with four-way stretch, moisture-wicking and thermal regulation, and a new Supima cotton option with premium softness and natural temperature control.
The new line from Greg Norman Collection – tagged by the company as “Seriously Fun” — expresses modern golf style, thoughtful product design, rich color stories and expressive prints. The men’s offering is anchored by tropical, whimsical prints that come to life in a clean palette of white, lemon shark and layered blues; a Hawaiian-inspired collection marked by hula girls, island cocktails and sharks; and a group that celebrates Tahiti’s resort island nightlife with pops of dusty purple and electric blue.
Meanwhile, sister brand Dunning’s lineup includes the Precision Bonded Pant in a proprietary high-performance four-way stretch fine twill; Mercer, whose luxuriously soft hand “redefines the sweatshirt as a polished essential;” Monaco V-Neck Sweater in a fine-gauge knit with integrated performance fibers and silk; and Glenbeg Insulated Vest in Dunning’s proprietary water-resistant interlock with a cire shell and PrimaLoft Black insulation for lightweight warmth and versatility.
In addition, Turtleson combines luxury with performance in the Longshot Vest, featuring a refined sport coat-inspired liner, leather Turtle logo, stretch panel under the arm for improved range of motion and hidden chest pocket sized to accommodate custom club or event logos. Also look for the Bex Merino Hoodie, made from 100 percent extra fine Merino wool for natural warmth, breathability and comfort, as well as the Scout Quarter-Zip done in DryComfort GEO 365, a fabric whose moisture management and thermal regulation doesn’t wash out or fade over time, the company says.
Jessica McClellan, PGA,Head Professional,Bandon Dunes Golf Resort,Bandon, Oregon
1. Right now we are seeing a return to a more classic look as the newest trend. Loud, bright patterns are fading out, while microprints, simple patterns and stripes are thriving.
2. Hoodies continue to be a guest favorite and are increasingly taking over the golf shop’s outerwear selection due to their versatility. I don’t see them going anywhere anytime soon.
3. Golf branding is trending toward subtlety – logos that don’t explain themselves. Minimal marks, little to no wording and an “If you know, you know” feel resonate with today’s golfer. The Ghost Tree’s popularity here at Bandon reflects that shift: iconic, understated and instantly recognizable to those who understand it.
Tech Garments Deliver Performance, Style
There are also a number of brands leaning into athletic styling that works on the course or for other active pursuits and allows golfers to play longer into the year. For example, Galvin Green’s fall line uses high-tech, sustainable materials in designs that deliver “unmatched performance and comfort for golfers whatever the weather.” The multi-material DRYVR collection combines advanced fully waterproof fabrics with eye-catching silhouettes in pieces like the full-zip Arlo Jacket, while the INTERFACE-1 range, designed to accommodate layering with base and mid layers underneath, is highlighted by the Luca Padded Windproof Vest that’s extremely lightweight and offers noteworthy breathability and warmth.
From Rhone, look for pieces like the Long Game Vest, which delivers lightweight performance in a warp-knit fabric with four-way stretch and UPF 50+ protection; Approach Tech Polo, whose all-way stretch fabric and angled sleeves provide cooling and freedom of movement; and Commuter Pant Slim, made with a Flex-Knit fabric that provides four-way stretch and other tech features.
Antigua’s blending of “classic golf culture with modern performance” can be seen in the Scramble Polo, made from the brand’s signature poly-sheen fabric with DesertDry technology and available in coastal blue and coffee neutral; Solve Polo, a more refined option featuring a circular geometric print on a new micro-pique fabrication; and Echelon Quarter-Zip Pullover, which delivers elevated comfort in a double-brushed poly-cotton blend with an ultra-soft hand feel.
Coastal inspiration meets vibrant citrus hues in Inward Half’s fall collection featuring performance polos and midweight hoodies, as well as a palette rich blues, warm oranges and sophisticated pine green tones. Whether layering for crisp mornings in the Fireside Hoodie or staying active in a performance polo, these versatile pieces move with the golfer while maintaining their shape and softness, the company says.
Known for elevated essentials, Jack Archer builds its fall collection around the Jet Setter Pant, returning in new seasonal colorways but with the same high-performance, anti-wrinkle and stain/water-resistant fabric. The assortment is complemented by the Clubhouse Polo, featuring Coolcore technology for “breathable, all-day comfort from the first tee to the clubhouse,” as well as new off-duty essentials and layering pieces designed to “transition seamlessly from weekend rounds to travel and everyday wear.”
adidas introduces a transitional layering system built to support golfers across a range of conditions with pieces suited for late-summer mornings that are just cool enough to require an extra layer – all the way to cooler, mistier rounds later in the season. At the core of the collection is the Ultimate365+ Course Control Anorak, featuring lightweight moisture protection to help maintain comfort in damp conditions and targeted insulation around the core to deliver reliable warmth without added bulk.
Technology also drives Oakley’s Fusion Collection, whose garments focus on comfort, movement and protection. Designed to adapt, each piece features modern innovation, including Hydrolix and thermoregulation, providing versatility for any condition, the company says. Pieces include high-performance Fusion Tech Fleece, as well as the Tech Insulation HZ Hoodie, C1 Sonic Welded Seamless Polo and Oakley Edge Elite Shoe.
FootJoy takes its outerwear to a new level of performance with the HydroSeries line of rain jackets providing “ultimate waterproof protection.” This includes the new Arcus rain jacket featuring the FJ TriLock System that fuses three unique performance fabrics to deliver protection, playing comfort and full range of motion, as well as ThermoSeries, which is engineered to adapt as the weather changes with items like the Insulated Hybrid Pullover, Textured Half-Zip Pullover, Hybrid Hoodie and Crossover Hoodie.
From BN3TH, look for everyday comfort and performance in the Essentials lineup, featuring the newly highlighted Essentials Boxer Brief that’s lightweight, breathable and moisture wicking in both classic solids and eye-catching prints, as well as the versatile Essentials Crew T-Shirt, made from an ultra-soft ECOVERO and cotton blend with a hint of stretch for natural breathability and a modern, free-feeling fit that works as a layering piece or standalone tee.
Bad Birdie leads with the Core Performance Pique Polo, described as “your everything polo – great on and off the course,” as well as a variety of layering options, including the top-selling Velocity Hoodie and the Kinetic Wind Pullover on the lighter side and Hybrid Jacket and Hybrid Vest as slightly warmer options. The Hybrid Jogger Pant offers a more sleek, athletic look and is available in a variety of colors.
In addition, SanSoleil is expanding its men’s business by supplying lightweight long-sleeve tops year-round in various fabrics, stripes, solids and prints. The Matrix tiny two-color check top, made with the SolTek ICE fabric, is now available in five colors, while the brand’s SolAir mineral-rich cooling fabric with small perforations comes in solid, contrast dot and stripe options, and the Cooling Mélange mini stripe is offered in nine fashion colors.

2. Athleisure and course-to-lifestyle apparel: Golf is breaking the mold and, whether people want to believe it or not, it’s cool again. Relaxed fit and the ability to share their golf fashion beyond the 18th green are becoming much more prevalent amongst golfers at our facility.
3. Performance-driven apparel: Thanks to players like Joel Dahmen and Justin Thomas, apparel that promotes UV protection without sacrificing style and comfort has become really popular. 1. Performance meets everyday wear in moisture-wicking polos that could just as easily be worn to brunch, stretch fabrics that move with the golfer and hybrid pieces like tech-knit jackets that transition from the course to errands.
2. Gone are the days of strictly pastel stripes and solid neutrals. We’re seeing pattern play like geometric prints, themed prints (think Happy Gilmore meets Peter Millar), bold checks and gingham, as well as seasonal drops with their own individual color stories.
3. It’s more about tailored fits and custom-like comfort options – apparel that feels made for you without the bespoke price tag – slim and modern fits that contour the body without restricting your swing. There are multiple cut options (slim, athletic, classic) so golfers can choose what actually fits their frame.
Women’s Lines Embrace Finer Dressing and Athleisure
In the women’s market we see a continued evolution toward more sophisticated looks and finer dressing that can take her from the course to the boardroom and beyond. “Women are redefining what golf style looks like,” says Susi Proudman, Founder & CEO of Williams Athletic Club. “It’s no longer about dressing for the game alone. It’s about expressing confidence, elegance and modern femininity through performance-driven design.”
For Williams Athletic Club, this is reflected in outerwear pieces like the refined, weather resistant Susi Jacket crafted in partnership with British Millerain – known for setting the global standard in heritage waxed cotton since 1880. Also look for the Heritage Plaid Collection of bottoms, which draws inspiration from classic tailoring and the worsted suiting mills of the UK, as well as Evergreens, returning this season with new seasonal colors and fresh silhouettes like polo-inspired bodysuits and quarter-zips with UPF 50 protection.
The fall line from A. Putnam also embodies this trend with a sophisticated blend of heritage and contemporary design inspired by founder Ali Putnam’s Scottish roots. The seasonal palette reflects early morning rounds in the Highlands with soft blues, misty grays and grounded greens accented by a subtle buttercup yellow, while styles include a new five pocket straight leg pant combining refined tailoring and thoughtful functionality; the Whit Travel Set encompassing the popular tulip crew, a wide leg pant and full zip funnel neck top; and a pure cashmere cardigan with enamel tonal buttons and white trimmed collar.

Greg Norman Collection’s women’s line, designed so prints and solids work together for “complete outfit flexibility,” features two fall groups: Clearwater, whose sun-washed shades give a fresh nod to resort living and crisp, clean waters, and Twilight Shores, whose deeper, moodier palette captures “the drama and allure of island nights with elegance and sophistication.” Meanwhile, Dunning’s Technical Elegance Collection eliminates audacious colors and busy patterns in favor of premium fabrics, an engineered fit, classic styling and “uncompromising performance,” the company says.
Inward Half makes the scene with outerwear and polos able to be paired with joggers and skorts to create a “cohesive athleisure look that transitions from the golf course to the street.” Featuring calming blues and soft pinks, the line honors traditional design, while advanced fabric technology supports an active lifestyle.
Likewise, style meets function in FootJoy’s latest line, whose Cranberry Bay Collection is inspired by the rich, storied tones of collegiate nostalgia and the quiet prestige of New England’s coastal courses, while the Rosewood Collection captures the refined charm of warm Southern golf, drawing inspiration from blooming rose gardens, sunlit waters and lush coastal greenery.
