As 2026 approaches, PGA Coaches across the country are preparing to create another year of unforgettable experiences for young golfers and their families through PGA Jr. League. The coming season brings several updates designed to make it easier for coaches to deliver high-quality programming that meets players where they are, whether they’re just picking up a club for the first time or ready to compete at a higher level.
These updates are built around three main ideals: creating more accessible entry points for kids, giving coaches flexibility to tailor their programs, and continuing to make participation simple for families.
Designed for players ages 9 and younger, this division gives younger kids a fun-focused way to experience the team environment of PGA Jr. League in a format that fits their developmental stage. Coaches can structure shorter practices and use modified formats like three-hole scrambles to keep younger players engaged. There’s no All-Star Season for this group; the goal is to build confidence, coordination and a love for the game.
This division is a great fit for in-house leagues, keeping all practices and games at one facility, simplifying everything for both families and coaches. It’s also a great way to develop future 13u and 17u participants by building a strong foundation for your program.
Active 9u Division players will count toward the total number of players used to determine 13u All-Star team eligibility.
The key takeaway is that PGA Jr. League is a framework, not a formula. You can shape the experience to match the needs of your golfers and their families.
Registration has been streamlined with the #GameChanger Club annual membership. For $120, families receive access to unlimited PGA Jr. League programs throughout the year, their team kit with custom uniforms, exclusive offers via PGA of America partners, league management software, and background screening and Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) training for all coaches and adult volunteers.
All fees are included in that total, making the experience smoother for families. Coaches should note that a processing fee of approximately 3 percent will be deducted from coaching payouts – similar to other PGA Coach transactions – and can plan their pricing accordingly.
PGA Jr. League jerseys continue to be one of the most exciting parts of the program for kids, and 2026 will feature new team kits and jersey designs. Each year, PGA Jr. League will introduce fresh colors and upgraded headwear options.
All uniforms now use U.S. sizing for better fit and comfort, and team kits remain included in player registration. These updates are about more than just looks – they help build team identity and pride.
The best programs go beyond matches. They build community and energy from start to finish. Coaches can create excitement through season kick-off events, themed practices and end-of-season celebrations that recognize every player’s progress.
Group Events, available through PGA Coach, make tacking on these experiences easy. Coaches can create their own event from scratch or choose from event templates that include suggested program outlines, like Drive, Chip and Putt prep clinics to help kids connect to other opportunities in golf and, coming in 2026, PGA Family Golf event templates. From your PGA Coach dashboard at My.PGA.com, select My Offerings, then Events. Either way, it’s a quick and simple way to create programs that are easy to promote and easy for consumers to find.
When your PGA Jr. League programs provide families with more opportunities for deeper engagement, they’re more likely to return – and bring friends.
