Omar Uresti, PGA Life Member, captured his fourth Southern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship title with rounds of 67-73—140 (-4) at Bay Oaks Country Club. His previous win came in 2023.
This year’s event also served as the Section’s qualifier for the 2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship, set for later this fall at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
“It feels good to get a win against a strong field on a tough course,” said Uresti. “I was solid in Round 1, but today I had to manage my mental game through the ups and downs.”
After a shaky front nine in the final round that included three bogeys, Uresti bounced back with an eagle and two birdies on the back to pull away. He finished three shots ahead of Billy Sitton, PGA (Triumph Golf), and four ahead of Darrell Fuston, PGA (Westwood Golf Club).
Uresti, Robert Thompson, PGA, and Eric Bogar, PGA, were already exempt. The five additional qualifiers advancing to the national championship are:
