Every December, millions of Americans celebrate Kwanzaa. Using the Oxford English Dictionary, see if you can find the language the word “Kwanzaa” comes from.
Hint: You can use the Oxford English Dictionary with your library card for word definitions and etymologies. On the site, go to Research, Popular Topics, Dictionaries & Encyclopedias, and then Oxford English Dictionary.
Did you know December is “Read a New Book Month?” If you need suggestions for new books, you can always ask a librarian when you’re visiting, chatting, or calling, but you can also get a Personalized Reading List by email. Just make sure you give us a week. See if you can find the request form on our website.
Hint: You find the link to Personalized Reading Lists, along with all the other services you get with (and sometimes without) your Denver Public Library card, listed on the “Services” page of our website. The Services are in alphabetical order so just scroll down to the Ps.
