Xbox Showcases Indigenous Voices at National Conference
In partnership with AISES, Xbox puts games that feature Indigenous stories and creators in the spotlight at the National Conference in Spokane. Beyond the conference, Xbox will continue working with AISES to develop content that amplifies Indigenous talent and storytelling.
AISES Receives Grant from Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
In a two-year continuing grant, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will provide AISES with $250,000 in annual funding ($500,000 total). The grant will help advance the Full Circle Student Support Services Program, which provides on-campus social, cultural, and academic supports as well as mentorship. The success of the initial partnership with the Cooke Foundation has been notable, and the continuing grant will build upon those gains and further advance the rate of completion for Indigenous students in STEM studies.
Aristocrat Grant Supports RISE Fund and More
A grant of $500,000 from Aristocrat Gaming will benefit several AISES projects, including the Resources for Indigenous STEM (RISE) fund, which provides access to programming resources for aspiring professionals in the gaming industry. The funding will also help support scholarships, internships, and workplace development opportunities.
AISES Announces Scholarship for Vocational Training
Acquiring sophisticated STEM skills doesn’t always require a college degree. To support students pursuing vocational training to earn a certificate or associate degree, AISES has partnered with automaker Polaris Inc. to establish a first-ever scholarship.
