William Byron has only one victory in 108 NASCAR Cup Series starts. However, that lone win came last August at Daytona, where he led 24 laps and raced his way into the playoffs with a victory that was one of the truly clutch performances of the 2020 season. Byron is by no means the favorite to win the Daytona 500, but the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s accomplishment at The World Center of Racing last summer shouldn’t be forgotten. Sunday will mark Byron’s first official start with new crew chief Rudy Fugle, who has replaced the legendary Chad Knaus atop the No. 24 pit box.
