Justin Marks is still on Cloud 9. Who can blame him? His brand new Trackhouse Racing team is off to a respectable start with driver Daniel Suarez.
The No. 99 Chevrolet is already competing in the top half of the pylon, and Marks is eager for more. Thanks to his partnership with Pitbull, Trackhouse Racing is getting attention across the nation, too.

“It’s been a lot of work. This all started with an idea, concept and a vision. From that first moment, it’s been about execution and making that vision come to life. We’re in the thick of it right now.”
“The best thing that could’ve happened to us is having the new car get delayed. It gives us an opportunity to build a culture and build relationships. We’re not trying to do that while learning how to race a whole new car at the same time. When the new car is implemented, we’ll have chemistry with the pit crew, chemistry with Daniel and Travis Mack, our crew chief, and it’s a great scenario for us. We can build a successful, competitive platform. We’ll be ready to focus on this new car.”
“It’s not just me, but it’s Chevrolet, RCR and the people we brought in. Ultimately, I think that’s what made Daniel realize this is the best place for him. A lot of this is going to be riding the front end of a competitive wave. Toyota is very dominant, but Chevrolet made a huge financial and bandwidth commitment to return to prominence. ECR and Hendrick Engines are working together. RCR had a fantastic season last year, and they put Austin Dillon in the playoffs. Daniel believes if those guys can do it, he can do the same thing. I was a driver for 20 years and I know the difference between racing for a team that truly believes in you and is motivated to see you succeed versus being at a team where you’re keeping a seat warm.”
“He’s a racing fan and he’s done some work with NASCAR before. He’s had a desire to get involved in the sport more deeply than just a promotional level. A lot of people in the industry knew we wanted to transcend the sport and build a brand that’s active in entertainment and music. That got back to him and we set up a meeting in Miami. In the first 10 to 15 minutes of the meeting -- I’m telling him Daniel’s story, my story, our mission, our philanthropic outreach initiative -- and he realized it had to happen. It happened very quickly and authentically. He’s a true partner in this race team.”
