Official NASCAR Members Club marketing manager Nick David is hoping to ramp up plans for the 2021 season. He plans to offer ONMC members opportunities for virtual VIP experiences at races starting in May. Long term? He hopes for visits that include access to driver meetings, pace car rides, driver introductions, garage tours and trips to Victory Lane. The Ultimate Fan Experience has been put on hold due to the pandemic.
“We had a really ambitious schedule so we could offer members that great stuff,” David said. “We’re hoping to get back to it this year.”
Out of the Groove recently connected with David for a Q&A.
“We been talking to NASCAR since last year about adding virtual VIP events. At the time, nobody knew what it would look like. It’s getting a little more defined. We’re talking to a lot of different partners about driver meet-and-greets, Q&As and other announcements.”
“We’re looking at seeing how we can add value to the club during this last part of the pandemic with give-aways and virtual VIP events. We’ll keep that going to add more value to the club going forward. People will be back on the track eventually, but we still want to have meet-and-greets. We think that will add good value going forward.”
“It’s starting very soon. We don’t have a date yet. We’re in talks with a few partners for that to launch. We’re hoping to have something probably by May. It’s something on the market for our members.”
“We have a few members that went to races at Daytona. We have a guy heading to Bristol. It’s nice to know people are starting to feel more comfortable. Members that have gone to tracks have had a great time. We weren’t there, but we’re looking forward to heading back. We were hoping for the fall, but everything is still up in the air. It will be good to get back. It’s something we missed, and we’ve definitely felt the loss of benefit to our club members. It will be good to get back in person.”
