Last season, Bubba Wallace posted a historic win in the fall at Talladega Superspeedway where he became the first African American driver since Wendell Scott in 1963 to capture a victory in NASCAR’s premier series.
Competing for the newly formed 23XI Racing organization co-owned by Denny Hamlin and NBA legend Michael Jordan, Wallace showed the world – including his many critics – that he’s capable of achieving great things at the sport’s highest level.
This season, Wallace will look to establish himself as a more consistent frontrunner after finishing no better than 21st in the standings in his first four seasons as a full-time Cup Series driver. His 21st-place points finish from a season ago marked just a one-position improvement from 2020, his final season at Richard Petty Motorsports.
