Have you registered for ANTEC® Orlando 2015 yet? Being held March 23-25, 2015, in conjunction with NPE2015 in Orlando, Florida, USA—this year’s ANTEC is sure to be a hit!
Your first stop in the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) should be the SPE Booth (#SL-20, South Hall Lobby) to get your picture taken with Linky, the official mascot of The Chain—the new engagement platform specifically designed for the plastics industry. Post your picture in specified social media networks using “#Linky” for a chance to win some amazing prizes. Take some time while you’re in the booth to explore The Chain on our portable touchscreens and see how to make the most of this new SPE member benefit.
After spending some time in the SPE booth on Monday, head into the South Hall of the OCCC to browse through the new all-digital Poster Session.
Do you print in 3-D? Join us on Tuesday for a special Plenary Session and New Technology Forum on Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing, and again on Wednesday from 1:30 to 5:00 for our “Hot Topics” program, “Advances in Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing Super Session,” brought to us by the 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing Work Group.
Also on Tuesday don’t be surprised to see over 200 neon-green shirts running around the NPE show floor. The starting flag for The Plastics Race®waves at 10:00 AM! Want to get in on the fun? Register now at www.4spe.org/antec/tpr. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this exciting event.
For the second year in a row, the SPE Plastics for Life™ Parts Competition will display over 20 competing parts that were winners of parts competitions from our member groups over the past two years. This year we’ve added a People’s Choice Award, so be sure to cast your vote on Tuesday and Wednesday. And there will be a drawing for $100 gift certificates from entries for each day!
Throughout the three days of ANTEC there will be a series of tutorials in Extrusion and Injection Molding technology and our newly added Plastics University forum, which brings the basics to those who are new to the industry or just need a refresher.
Last but certainly not least… have you heard about the PlastiVan™ Program? Supported by SPE’s Foundation, the PlastiVan™ Program is a hands-on, plastics-oriented experience which provides students in grades 5-12 with applied knowledge to spark their scientific curiosity. Stop by the PlastiVan Booth #SL-70 (South Hall Lobby) to watch as Margie Weiner, the lead instructor for the PlastiVan Program, demonstrates the magic of plastics to groups of students throughout the week.
