A unified United Methodist Church reflects oneness in its nature, mission, and vision as it seeks to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. It must accept Scripture as the primary source of theological reflection in a world that is degenerated by sin and unable to redeem itself. Indeed, a unified United Methodist Church is that church that respects and abides by the dictates of the United Methodist Book of Discipline. A unified United Methodist Church is authentically global in nature and practice insofar as it accepts all as equal in the sight of God: black, white, African, Asian, etc. A truly unified United Methodist Church opens its doors wide enough so that all will have a comfortable space, a space that is welcoming and accommodating enough, where God’s people can feel the love of Jesus Christ who died for sinners so that they can be reconciled with the God of compassion and justice.
