There is a reason why one of the newest releases from Ecco is called S-Three. That’s because the key component in these hybrid shoes is a molded midsole that boasts three zones of comfort in places where golfers apply the most pressure during their swings, so they receive the proper balance of cushioning and stability. Ecco technicians say they are able to achieve all that through a new, triple injection process called Zonal Fluidform.
Zone 1, they aver, is for comfort, with the heel of the midsole engineered for medium softness, while Zone 2 is all about stability. That is the result of the central part of the midsole having higher levels of rigidity, for greater lateral stability. As for Zone 3, that section is designed to provide flexibility at the forefront, for better balance and cushioning while walking.
Due to the unique, multisection injection process, each S-Three midsole has “unique color transitions” between the different sections, endowing the shoes with distinctive looks.
Made in Ecco factories, the calf napa leather uppers of these shoes are 100 percent waterproof, thanks to the Gore-tex technology they employ. And they sit atop an E-DTS outsole that has more than 100 traction bars and 800 traction angles in place with the goal of optimal gripping, no matter the conditions. In addition, designers included a double layer of neoprene in the heel and collar in pursuit of extra padding and extra comfort.
